At the moment, customers may activate Windows 11 using a Windows 7 product key. Similarly, you may activate additional products with a Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 license key.
Recently, an early test version of Windows 11 was leaked online, revealing an improved user interface and additional capabilities, but since it is not yet officially available, customers who got the preview discovered that the operating system could be activated successfully using a Windows 7 product.
This also implies that Microsoft is likely to support the Windows 7 to Windows 11 upgrade route.
If this is the case, customers may update their PCs or laptops running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 for free to Windows 11.
The new operating system is unsurprising, given how little has changed in Windows 11 other than the UI. Additionally, this is not the first time Microsoft has made the operating system available for free to users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices.
For a short period, Microsoft provided a free upgrade to Windows 10. Even when the offer ends, customers may continue to activate their computers using the older operating system version.
On June 24, Microsoft will host a special event to introduce the next version of its desktop operating system. The virtual event will begin at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time / 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time and will be broadcast live on the company’s website.
