Microsoft to End Support for Several Products in 2023

Microsoft has announced that it will end support for several products in 2023. This means that users of these products will no longer receive security updates or other support from Microsoft.

The following products will reach end of support in 2023:

  1. Windows 8.1 and Windows Embedded 8.1 Pro
  2. Windows Defender for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
  3. Windows RT
  4. Windows Embedded 8 Standard and Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry
  5. Windows Embedded Standard 7 (Year 3 of ESU support)
  6. Windows 10 version 20H2 Enterprise and Education editions
  7. Windows 10 version 21H2 Home and Pro editions
  8. Windows 11 version 21H2 Home and Pro editions
  9. Microsoft Dynamics 365
  10. Microsoft Office
  11. Microsoft SQL Server
  12. Microsoft Visio
  13. Microsoft Visual Studio
  14. Microsoft Windows
  15. Microsoft Windows Server

After a product reaches the end of support, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, non-security updates, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. This means that users of these products will be at increased risk of security vulnerabilities and may experience compatibility issues with newer software and hardware.

Users are advised to upgrade to a supported product version immediately. Microsoft offers a variety of tools and resources to help users with the upgrade process.

i guess I will move to Ubuntu

Surprised to see Windows 11 version 21H2 Home and Pro editions here. That was quick. Windows 12 could be around the corner.

I’m surprised to see MS Office on the list, that means they have something better to offer us but I know it’s not going to be MS 365. I know they’re building their A.I very well but we can only expect something huge since they’re not going to support these sws. thanks for the updates!
